Do You Know Someone Who Needs Assistance?

Needless to say, this has been a challenging year for all of us! However, some among us are hit harder by the effects of the coronavirus. If you know someone (including yourself) who needs a hand, here are some resources we offer or that have been shared with us.

Help with Housing Needs:

Virginia Rent and Mortgage Relief Program (RMRP)

The Virginia Rent and Mortgage Relief Program (RMRP) is designed to support and ensure housing stability across the commonwealth during the coronavirus pandemic. Depending on availability of funds and household need, the RMRP may provide financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments for eligible households. This includes financial assistance for rent or mortgage payments past due beginning April 1, 2020 and onward. Financial assistance is a one-time payment with opportunity for renewal based on availability of funding and the household’s need for additional assistance and continued eligibility.

For more information, including a simple “do I qualify?” questionnaire, please visit:

Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD):

People Helping People (PHP)

Do you know this amazing organization that helps residents of Fauquier County? For over 25 years, People Helping People has provided emergency financial assistance to families and individuals in Fauquier County, Virginia. Between paying rent or a utility bill and connecting people with other agencies in the county, they have a great impact on our community. Our Saviour is a founding partner with this small non-profit and continues to support them with volunteers and finances.

If you need assistance, please call their office at (540) 349-9017.   Office Hours are Monday-Thursday from 9:00am – 12:00pm. In response to Covid-19, some procedures are different, and more aid than usual may be available.

Help with Food, Paper Products, Gas Cards, and More:

Fauquier County Food Distribution Coalition

On the third Saturday morning of every month, volunteers from across the area gather at the Warrenton United Methodist Church to distribute pre-packed boxes of food. Some registration information is asked, and at this time, the boxes are distributed in a drive-through fashion. Our Saviour collects food and money to support this vital ministry and sends volunteers over each month.

For more information, contact Dave and Judy Raecke (church members) or go to the Coalition’s website:

OSLC Food Pantry

Our Saviour has our own food pantry, offering to our members and neighbors a chance to select just what they need from our selection of non-perishable foods, toilet paper, personal care items, and cleaning supplies. We also offer gas cards and occasionally have grocery gift cards to give away. The Food Pantry and Gas Cards are available from 10-

In addition, Our Saviour has an Emergency Fund to help fill the gaps our members and neighbors may experience for any reason at any time. Contact the pastors for more information. We want to help!
