Join Us For Some Praise and Pies!
Following our Thanksgiving service, please join us as we enjoy fellowship over delicious PIES!
Pie Fest is a time-honored tradition at OSLC. Let’s gather together to give thanks for all our blessings and celebrate the beginning of the holiday season as we prepare for Advent.
Join us for a Service of Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 22 at 7 pm.
Immediately after the service, we will have sweet pie for dessert with coffee and other beverages. But don’t worry if you’re not a baker, you can always buy a pie and bring it. Or, if you are unable to do either, please still plan on joining us as we’ll have enough for all!
If you can lend a hand with setup or cleanup, please let us know that as well.
Questions? Contact Tamar Yager or Jana Frieslander with the Fellowship Committee using your church directory or by getting their information through the church office.
REPLENISHMENT OF PASTORS’ EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FUND
As is OSLC’s tradition at the Thanksgiving Tuesday service, the offering is designated to the Pastors’ Emergency Assistance Fund to help those in our community who have fallen on hard times. Since the world turned upside down in 2020, almost all of the funds have been used to supply $20 gas cards to 20 needy Fauquier residents each month who come to the church and request them. Usually, the supply is exhausted within the first week of each month! Even though we all know how far one can travel on $20 worth of gas, it is heartwarming to see the gratitude the recipients exhibit. If you wish to help our neighbors during these economically trying times, please give as the offering plate is passed at the “Thanksgiving Service” or online at your convenience.
