December 18, 2020
Due to the increased risk of infection from the covid-19 coronavirus, the Continuity of Ministry Committee, in consultation with the pastors and music leaders, have made the following changes to our worship services from now until at least January 17, 2021:
- Saturday services are on hiatus
from December 19 (this weekend) through January 17, 2021 - Sunday services will be offered ONLY on Facebook livestream
(with video posted to the website at some later date) from December 20 (this weekend) through January 18, 2021 - All ministries and groups that already meet at the church must follow the Governor’s orders from December 10, 2020 and be limited to 10 or fewer total people. In addition, all groups need to meet in the large, open area of the Fellowship Hall rather than any previously agreed-upon rooms. Look next week for updated in-person guidelines on the website.
We will reintroduce regular opportunities to come for Holy Communion in short, small-group services in early January.
Please check our Covid-19 page for regular updates.
We are saddened by the increased problems from this virus and pray for all those affected in any way. If you would like a call from the pastors or a leader of the congregation for prayer or to share concerns, please contact the office or those leaders directly.
Thank you!
Mark Knisely and the Continuity of Ministry Committee
Protecting yourself and others from COVID-19
As COVID-19 cases are on the rise, it is more important than ever to stay diligent in protecting yourself and others from COVID-19.
- Know how it spreads- through respiratory droplets (and sometimes airborne or on surfaces) from talking, singing, coughing, etc., between people in close contact, even if they are not showing symptoms
- Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds- that is about the time it takes to sing Jesus Loves Me or say The Lord’s Prayer; avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact- maintain at least 6 feet between you and those not living in your household
- Cover your mouth and nose with a mask when around others (Masks should not be placed on young children under age 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.)
- Cover coughs and sneezes- throw away used tissues and wash those hands!
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
- Monitor your health- take your temperature daily and be alert for symptoms such as fever (100.4 F or above), cough, shortness of breath or other COVID-19 symptoms and follow CDC guidelines if symptoms develop. Call your physician for any concerns.
