The affirmation of faith, called Confirmation, is an important moment in the life of a young Christian. It is the ceremony by which they publicly embrace the faith that has been handed on to them, and take their place as adult members of the congregation.
In Lutheran churches, young people are prepared for Confirmation by years-long instruction in both the Bible and the church’s historic teachings, called the Catechism.
On Sunday, 12 September, during the 10:30 am worship service, we at Our Saviour will celebrate with joy the confirmation of eight young people, our “classes” of both 2020 and 2021. We hope that the confirmands will be joined by their parents, godparents and classmates as they give witness to their trust in the promises of God.
For those unable to attend in person, the worship service will be streamed live on Facebook (with later viewing available as well). Go to our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/oslcwarrenton/.
