30 Fast Hours 2025 Makes A Difference!

In March, our middle and high school youth fasted together for 30 hours to learn about the ongoing problem of hunger in our world, and to make an impact.

First, our teens and young adults had a great time learning about food insecurity and its effects, what God tells us about caring for others, and ways to help alleviate suffering around the world as well as here in Fauquier County. There was laughter, a few tears, a bruise or two, a little sleep, and lots of thoughtful conversation. And water, lots of water! There are photos below to give you a peek at some of the shenanigans!

Look at how far your generous contributions stretched this year! Thank you!

Monetary Donations were shared with two organizations. ELCA World Hunger received $5000, and Fauquier FISH received $1900. We were excited to be able to send money at a time that it is so needed.

Two Little Free Pantries have been installed in the area. One is in use on OSLC’s property to make food available during the hours our office is closed. The other was delivered to Fauquier FISH. They plan to copy it to make more, and will install them around Warrenton.

FISH was very glad to receive the new pantry!

183 Personal Care Kits have been packed and delivered to Lutheran World Relief, along with an offering to pay for their shipping. These kits include the basics, (toothbrush, towel, soap, nail clippers, and comb) that people need when they have flee from war or disasters. Many were distributed in North Carolina after Helene hit last year.
