Children’s Summer Meals
At last report from Department of Social Services (DSS), over 3,000 Fauquier County children receive breakfast and/or lunch through the School Nutrition Program. While on summer vacation, there may be only a limited program. Please help for the months of June and July by purchasing some or all the items listed below, placing them in a bag marked “Children Summer Meals”, and dropping them off at OSLC by Sunday, June 13 AND/OR Sunday, July 11. Additionally, you can donate money and we’ll do the shopping for you. 😉

Children’s Summer Meals – Food Donations List
- shelf milk (ultra-pasteurized [UHT] milk – eg. Parmalat, or powdered milk)
- cereal
- small boxes of raisins or other dried fruit
- juice boxes
- peanut butter & jelly (plastic containers, pls)
- cereal bars
- tuna or chicken (as salad or with salad dressing), with crackers in a package
- snack sizes of fresh fruit in plastic or metal containers
- small/individual mac & cheese (microwaveable)
- V8 Fusion juice (any flavor, 8 oz. cans or 6.75 oz. juice boxes)
- canned pasta items (eg. Chef Boyardee, Campbell’s or Annie’s)
- any healthy snacks (but, please, NO NUTS – too many allergies)
